On Wednesday, we spent the day in the lab working on our research papers. If you missed, please see me or Ms. Hardison for help with your section!

On Thursday, we were back in the classroom and we started a new Daily Sentence activity.

We discussed the following terms:
Independent Clause
Sentence
Predicate
Verb Phrase
Action Verb
Past Tense
Definite Article
Indefinite Articles

We then diagrammed the sentence

We reviewed our Vocab 11 words and the exercises are due on Monday

We had our Act II Scene I group quiz. Please see me to makeup this work!

Information for Research Paper

2009 American Literature Research Project

Decades in Review

Assignment:
Chose One Decade from the 1900’s-1980 based upon your standing in the Vocabulary Competition.

This paper will be broken into three different sections for submission:

Submission One: Introduction, Literature and Major authors of the decade
Submission Two: Examination of Decade
Topics for Research:
Fashion
Dance
Business
Politics
Music
Technology
Industry
War
Hollywood
Sports
TV/Radio
Architecture
Other topics of interest are an option with special approval


Submission Three: Comparative Analysis of this time period with current American issues

Each section will also contain a focus for writing:
Submission One: Run-ons and eliminating all sentences that say nothing
Submission Two: Comma usage and lead-ins
Submission Three: Style and eliminating passive verbs.

Today we finished our Transcendentalism Exam and began work on our thesis statement and note taking.

Due on Thursday: Act 2 Scene I questions for Raisin in the Sun

Due Monday Lesson 11 Vocab.
