4/20-4/25

We are continuing with our study of the Great Gatsby. Everyday this week, you have had to read and complete a reading quiz. We will have one tomorrow over chapter 6.

You book covers are also due tomorrow. Be sure to bring your preplanning pages back also, so I can use the rubric on it to grade them. Best of luck,

The week was the Exit Exam testing, so we had a fairly easy week. We spent the entire week typing our research paper in the library and lab. We have been proofreading the papers.

3/16-3/20

This week we have been doing the final review before the Exit Exam next week.
We completed a practice exam on tuesday and then redid it to correct the errors on Wednesday. On Thursday, we reviewed the entire exam and really focused on the ideas that were new to us.

Friday we took the Voc 12 quiz and discussed the second submission of our research paper.

PLEASE NOTE: COMPLETED RESEARCH PAPER IS DUE ON APRIL 1st.

Homework: Continue working on Research Paper 1st and 2nd paragraphs are due on Monday.

March 9-13, 2009

Because of illness I was out Monday- Wednesday. The American Literature classes watched A Raisin in the Sun and completed the movie guide that accompanied it for a major grade.

On Thursday, we finished up the movie and students were allowed to work on the five paragraph essay required as a part of the guide. If you missed class, you need to make this up!

On Friday, we did a Daily Sentence (please get this from another students), Exit Exam Review on Pages 113-118 in the practice workbook, began the Voc 12, and discussed the new dates for our research paper, because I missed all the work planned this week.

Our new dates will be...
Monday, March 16th- three printed articles in class
Tuesday-Friday March 17th-20th- Write your rough draft and proofreading
Monday, March 23rd-Friday, March 27th- Finalize Submission 1 and type Submission 2.
April 1st- Turn in entire paper for final grade!
April 2nd- Paper will be accepted for 20% off
April 3rd- Paper will be accepted for 30% off
After April 3rd, the paper will not be accepted.
